
Now heading into it’s 12th competition in 14 years, White County Cheering for a Cure has raised more than $265,000 to assist those fighting cancer. Last year alone, the non-profit pulled in more than $50,000. Lacey Moore and Amy Rice will embark on another exhausting but rewarding effort this Saturday at McDougal-Evers Gymnasium. This year’s Cheer for a Cure gets underway at 9am. Moore and Rice will be guests on WROY’s Open Line program Friday morning. The duo presented at Kiwanis Thursday. Moore, principal at Jefferson Attendance Center, also brought 2nd Quarter Most Valuable Bulldogs recognizing four outstanding 2nd graders including Olivia Thomason, Charley Vaughan, Aubree Drone, and Haylee Newman-Redding.
The Carmi Kiwanis Club made a $250 donation to the White County Cheering for a Cure cause.
