Rotary Recaps Trivia Contest

Carmi Rotary Club meeting

Thursday, November 8, 2018

The Carmi Rotary club had a short meeting on Thursday to recap the recent Trivia contest and to discuss the next event on the calendar.

Last Saturday’s trivia night was a huge success with fourteen teams competing. The Tri-County Terrors won again, as they have become one of the dominant teams in this twice a year event. The club voted to donate the proceeds from the night’s 50/50 raffle to the Brownsville School project, which is working to improve conditions at that very important facility.

The next trivia contest will be on March 10th, Remember, “when the time changes it is time for trivia.”

The club’s next event will be held on Friday, November 16th when the Rotarians host their chili supper. This year’s chili will be served at the Lion’s Den in Carmi, and will run from five until seven in the evening. Tickets for the supper are seven dollars per person, and for that amount the patron will receive chili with all the fixins, dessert and a drink. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from any Carmi Rotarian.

Randy Adams won the 50/50 drawing but failed once again to draw the winning ball, which means the growing cash pot will add a few more dollars for next week’s drawing.

Cindy Conley named Don Drone as the day’s phantom.

The Carmi Rotary club meets every Thursday at noon at the First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Carmi. Anyone wishing to learn more about this civic organization is welcome to attend a meeting or speak with any Carmi Rotarian.
