Newcomers Signal Intention to Challenge in April 1, 2025 Election

It appears there will be races for Mayor and council seats in the city of Carmi based on the first day of packet pickups.  Incumbents Sheila Headlee and Doug Hays representing Wards I and II respectively have picked up signaling their intention to run.  Newcomers include Tim Sneed and Cheyenne Long; they’ve both picked up for Ward III, currently represented by long time aldermen Mark Blake and Steve Winkleman.  As of right now, with enough signatures and paperwork filled out completely, it’s a three man race with Bill Stendeback and John Bolerjack looking to challenge Mayor Jeff Pollard in the April 1st, 2025 election.  City Clerk Cynthia Attebury has signaled her intention to run for re-election also.

Competition is good. Stagnation requires reform to keep up with changes and deliver viable solutions that reflect the needs of the taxpayers

Everyone needs to register and everyone needs to vote. A lot of people say it’s time for a change and unless you register and vote nothing will change

I’m excited we will finally have a choice! Everyone please get out and vote! Without votes we will not have change and everything will stay as it is. We really need change and someone who will respect the citizens of this town and not act like they are better than everyone else.
