Mt. Vernon Indiana Police Take More than 156 Grams of Meth off Streets in October

Mt. Vernon Police Chief Justin Rutledge says his department took more than 156 grams of meth off the streets in October.  In three separate incidents, October 8th, 16th, and 19th, officers took into custody three different women, two from Evansville and another from Fairview, Tennessee.  Each were charged with dealing meth, over 10 grams along with a slew of other charges.

In the arrest of 45-year-old Misty Cunningham of Evansville, an officer observed her traveling 21 mph over the speed limit prompting the stop.  After finding out Cunningham didn’t have a valid driver’s license, an inventory of the vehicle revealed a bag in between the drivers seat and center console that allegedly contained 5 individually tied corner cut bags all containing suspected methamphetamine.  Some of that meth field tested positive for fentanyl.  The total weight was more than 12 grams.

On October 16th, an officer observed 44-year-old Lori Reynolds of Evansville behaving in a “concerning and suspicious manner” at the Hucks Convenience Store on Main.  After observing signs of impairment, law enforcement descended on Reynolds with K-9 Basco.  A subsequent search of the vehicle found 132.5 grams of suspected meth mixed with fentanyl.

On October 19th, just after midnight, Mt. Vernon officers were on patrol and spotted a loose dog.  While trying to catch the dog, the officers say 38-year-old Sara Sligar emerged from an alley and said the dog was hers and she was also attempting to catch it.  After being called to another incident, the officers returned to find Sligar slumped behind the wheel of a white Nissan.  During the subsequent investigation, officers found multiple guns, 9.57 grams of suspected meth, 18.34 grams of suspected cocaine, 7.55 grams of suspected marijuana, a suspected drug ledger book, ammo, and drug paraphernalia.
