Tuesday, October 11th at approximately 9:55 pm, the Mt. Carmel Police responded to an armed robbery at Family Video located at 520 Walnut Street in Mt. Carmel.
Police were told that a white male entered the establishment and displayed a handgun to the store employee. The suspect then demanded that the employee give him all the money in the stores register. The employee handed the suspect an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene.
The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5’9-5’10 feet tall, with light colored hair. It is believed the subject was in his late teens or early twenty’s. The suspect was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt or hoodie, a dark colored ball cap, sunglasses, and was wearing a red bandanna across his face. The employee was not injured during the robbery and no customers were present.
This investigation is being handled by the Mt. Carmel Police Department with the assistance of the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.
