On 06/29/2016, the Mt. Carmel Police responded to 921 W. 3rd Street in Mt. Carmel in reference to an unresponsive adult. While at the residence a second unresponsive adult was found at the scene. Both subjects were declared deceased by the Wabash County Coroner, Larry Hodgson. The deceased were identified as Timothy D. Roe and Micki J. Byers, both of Mt. Carmel. Both subjects lived in the residence but it is not believed the two were in a relationship. The scene was secured by the Mt. Carmel Police and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene services were contacted in order to process the crime scene. On 06/30/2016, an autopsy was conducted in Mt. Carmel. A toxicology screen was completed on both subjects. The toxicology report indicates that both subjects died from multidrug toxicity. The investigation is ongoing and more interviews are expected in the next few weeks. The investigation is being handled by the Mt. Carmel Police Department and the Wabash County Coroner’s Office.
