Mt. Carmel Police Department arrest report 1/4-1/8

The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department.  All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

01/04/2017- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 29 year old Matthew R. Blair of Lawrenceville after he was stopped for a traffic violation.  During the traffic stop it was discovered that Blair was driving on a suspended driver’s license.  Blair was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for driving while suspended and for having an expired license plate.  Blair was held pending the posting of bond.

01/05/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 29 year old Lucas Ryan Green of Mt. Carmel after police were called to an apartment at 125 N. Division Street in Mt. Carmel.  Police were originally called to the residence reference a welfare check.  The complainant advised that she left her 3 year old daughter at the residence with a friend.  When the friend returned the next day no one would answer the door.  There were concerns for a 3 year old and 6 year old in the residence.  Police were able to get into the residence where they found two adults had been sleeping.  Green and a female partner advised they didn’t hear the police knocking on the door.  During the investigation Green was arrested after it was discovered that he was wanted on a Lawrence County warrant charging him with forgery.  Green was taken into custody and transferred to the Wabash County Jail where he was issued the warrant and cited under the City cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia ordinance.  The female was released without charges.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested 24 year old Jesika R. Moreno of Mt. Carmel after the arresting officer observed her operating a motor vehicle in the 100 block of E. 9th Street.  The arresting officer knew Moreno did not have a valid driver’s license and initiated a vehicle stop.  Moreno was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was cited for driving while suspended.  Moreno was held pending the posting of bond.

Mt. Carmel Police took 35 year old Tommy L. Askren of Mt. Carmel into custody after he turned himself into the Mt. Carmel Police Station.  Askren knew he had an aggravated battery warrant out of Wabash County and turned himself in.  Askren was transferred to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.   Askren was warrant was the result of a fight that occurred on 12/31/2016 where he was involved in a physical altercation that put a Mt. Carmel man in the hospital.  The victim in the fight is expected to make a full recovery.

01/06/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 32 year old Crystal D. Adams of Mt. Carmel after she was observed operating a motor vehicle in the 200 block of Walnut Street.  The arresting officer reported that he knew Adams was driving on a suspended driver’s license and stopped the vehicle.  Adams was subsequently arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was cited for driving while suspended.  Adams was held pending the posting of bond.

01/08/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 57 year old Angela M. Story of Mt. Carmel after she was stopped for driving on a revoked driver’s license.  The arresting officer observed Story operating the motor vehicle in the 700 block of Walnut Street and initiated a vehicle stop where she was placed into custody.  Story was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with driving while revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested two subjects while investigating a suspicious vehicle.  Police were called to the 1100 block of Mulberry Street reference a suspicious vehicle.  When officer’s arrived on scene they identified the driver of the suspicious vehicle as Thomas E. Fugate, age 28, of Mt. Carmel.  Fugate was then placed under arrest for driving on a suspended driver’s license.  The passenger in the vehicle was identified as 29 year old Heather M. Hall of Mt. Carmel.  Hall was arrested for disorderly conduct after it was discovered that she attempted to report the same vehicle she was riding in as stolen.  Hall had earlier made a complaint that the vehicle had been stolen and told officers that she had not given anyone permission to drive the vehicle.  Hall then admitted to filing a false police report.  Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
