Two McLeansboro men who were accused of storming the Capitol have been pardoned. 36-year-old Theodore Middendorf and 37-year-old Justin LaGesse were charged about a year ago for their participation in the breach. Middendorf had pled guilty to one count of Destruction of Government Property. He was set to be sentenced on February 12th. LaGesse had pled guilty to Destruction of Government Property and was facing misdemeanor charges of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings, and parading, picketing, and demonstrating in a Capitol building. Just a little more than a week before President Trump’s inauguration and subsequent pardoning, LaGesse was sentenced to 11 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $43,000 in restitution.
