Mcleansboro Charged After Leaving Crash Site
A McLeansboro man is facing charges after being involved in a single-vehicle accident just before 3 Saturday morning on the Akin Blacktop at Bessie Road in Franklin County.
Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says, 23-year-old David M. Potter was driving his car west when he lost control, ran off the roadway on the north side, striking a driveway embankment, then a railroad crossing sign, then a second driveway embankment before coming to rest in the yard of a residence.
Potter left on foot before deputies arrived. He later presented himself at the sheriff’s office.
Potter has been charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage crash.
