Mayor Thanks City Employees

With no items on the agenda for the Carmi City Council meeting Tuesday, Mayor Jeff Pollard says he used the time to show gratitude to Carmi employees for their work in preparation and cleanup following the annual Corn Day celebration.  Additionally, the mayor offered his congratulations to alderman Doug Hays on his being honored as Citizen of the Year at the Carmi Chamber of Commerce dinner on Monday, October 9th.  Pollard also formally congratulated the other award winners as well.

Finally, Mayor Pollard is reminding citizens the Carmi Trick or Treat hours are set for 4pm – 8pm on Tuesday, October 31st.  He says kids should remember to only stop at houses with porch lights on.  Moreover, youth are welcome to stop by the city and Chamber of Commerce’s cooperative Trunk or Treat on the same night from 5p – 7pm in the parking lot behind the city’s Light and Water office.

Is the Fire Department or another local agency going to check the children’s candy for safe eating?
