Local Sports Recap – September 15, 2022

The Carmi-White County boys golf team shot their best score of the season yesterday at Fairfield. The Bulldogs shot a 169, while the Mules did not complete a team score. Gage Atteberry led the way with a 41. Zack Roark shot a 42. Maxon O’Daniel and Travor Mason both shot 43s. Gabe Winkleman shot a 46, and Connor Newell shot a 51. The boys golf team will have the next couple of days as they will take part in the Salem Invitational on Saturday. The girls however will be in action today as they travel to Marion to face the Wildcats and Mt. Vernon. 

The Carmi-White County girls tennis team fell at home yesterday to Marion, 6-3. Despite the loss, Carmi’s Johanna Smith and Olivia Cox upset Marion’s #1 doubles team 10-8. Smith also won her singles match, 10-3. And Ellie Kiser won her #4 singles match, 10-7. The girls tennis team will travel to Salem later today. 

Other teams in action today are the CWC Volleyball team as they travel to Hamilton County. Cross-Country will run today at NCOE.
