Local Sports Recap – October 23, 2023

Back on Friday the Carmi-White County Bulldog football team fell to Johnston City by a final score of 36-6.

The Bulldogs marched down the field on their opening drive and took a 6-0 lead when quarterback Landon Driscoll found Noah Pollard for a 9-yard touchdown. That would be the only time the Bulldogs found the endzone. Johnston City was able to score 3 times in the 1st half, and that would be more than enough to get their 8th win of the year.

The Bulldogs finish the regular season 7-2. Carmi was granted the 6 seed in the southern IHSA 2A playoff bracket, the Bulldogs will host Breese Mater Dei at Harrington-Jeffries Sports Complex on Saturday at 1 PM. It will be a rematch of the 2021 playoffs when Mater Dei defeated Carmi-White County 54-16.
