Local Sports Recap – October 21, 2022

The Carmi-White County Bulldog football team will host the Flora Wolves for the final regular season game of the year tonight. The Bulldogs are 7-1, they have already clinched a playoff spot and are fighting for a top 5 playoff seed. The Wolves are 4-4, they must win tonight to get into the playoffs. CWC head coach Kurt Simon says this is a Flora team who played well last week against Sesser-Velier, and the Bulldogs will have to take care of the ball in order to win. With it being the final game of the regular season, it will also be senior night. All of the senior fall sport athletes will be honored before the game. For those fans that can’t make it to the game, they can listen to all the action on 97.3 FM WRUL or they can watch the game on the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. The Bulldogs will find out who they will play in the playoffs tomorrow night when the IHSA announces the playoff field. Carmi will play at home in the first round which is set for next Saturday, October 29th.

Tomorrow the CWC Lady Bulldog Volleyball team will take part in the Fairfield tournament to wrap up the regular season. They will begin regionals next week in Mt. Carmel. They will play on Tuesday against the winner of Mt. Carmel and Harrisburg.
