The Carmi-White County Softball team defeated Harrisburg last night in the IHSA 2A Regional Semifinal by a final score of 4-0.
The Lady Bulldogs scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning on RBI singles by Maggie Pearce and Ashlyn Rager to take a 2-0 lead. Carmi scored another in the 4th on a bases loaded walk, and another in the 5th on an RBI single by Eva Attebury to extend their lead to 4-0 and they would go on to win by that score.
Lindsay Simmons pitched all 7 innings allowing 0 runs on just 4 hits with one strikeout.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 12-13 on the year and they advance to the IHSA 2A Harrisburg Regional Championship tomorrow to face Carterville. Carterville is the defending Class 2A State Champions and are currently the #1 ranked team in Class 2A. The Lady Bulldogs lost to Carterville back on March 25 by a score of 11-5.

The Carmi-White County Baseball team fell to Harrisburg last night in the IHSA 2A Fairfield Regional Semifinal by a final score of 2-1.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning on an RBI single by Cade Allen, scoring Merick Millhorn. Carmi held that lead until the bottom of the 6th inning when Harrisburg tied the game at 1-1. The Bulldogs had the go-ahead run at 2nd base with no outs in the top of the 7th inning, but they weren’t able to score.
With runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th inning, Harrisburg successfully executed a suicide squeeze to bring home the winning run.
The Bulldogs finish the season with a 11-13-1 record, and the careers of Cade Allen, Mitchel Edwards, Travor Mason, Ty Hollingsworth, Gavin Holloman, and Tyson Spicer come to an end.

The Carmi-White County Boys Track team traveled to Fairfield yesterday for the IHSA 1A Sectional meet, and 8 Bulldogs are heading to the IHSA State Finals next week.
Mitchel Edwards placed 1st in High Jump and 2nd in Long Jump.
Connor Benham placed 2nd in Pole Vault.
Beck Huff placed 1st in the 100 Meter Race.
Jayde Alrbight placed 2nd in the 400 Meter Race.
Kale Wiggins placed 2nd in the 300 Meter Hurdles.
Andrew Benham placed 1st in the 1600 Meter Race.
The 4×1 Relay team of Kale Wiggins, Cooper Hill, Noah Pollard, and Beck Huff not only finished in 1st Place, but they also re-broke the CWCHS record with a time of 44.21, a record they broke last year.
Those state-bound Bulldogs will head to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston next Thursday for the IHSA State Track Meet.

Ellie King, Audrey Taylor, Aubrey Kessler, Callie Winter, Gabbie Conover, Makyla Seibers, Ally Pollard, Callie Acord, Torrie Rider, and Norah Taylor will all travel to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston to compete in preliminaries today. Those who advance will take part in the State Finals tomorrow.
The Carmi-White County Boys Tennis team was supposed to travel to Mt. Carmel this afternoon, but due to rain being forecasted for tomorrow the IHSA Sectional at Herrin has been moved up to today.
