The Carmi-White County Girls Basketball team fell to Edwards County at home last night by a final score of 52-48.
The Lady Bulldogs led 48-46 with 90 seconds to go, but Edwards County ended the game on a 6-0 run to win the game.
Addi Elliott led Carmi in scoring with 22 points.
Caroline Simmons scored 10.
Natalie Goemaat scored 8.
Torrie Rider scored 4.
Jaya Smith and Ashlyn Rager scored 2.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 11-7 on the year and 5-1 in the Black Diamond Conference. They will be back in action tonight as they face Hamilton County in the 3rd Place Game at the Lady Eagle Mid-Winter Classic in Eldorado.
The Carmi-White County Wrestling team lost to Centralia last night on the road, 45-32.
Gage Anderson, Nolan Garner, Kale Wiggins, Trenton Chambers, Cole Evans, and Branson Burnett all won their matches for the Bulldogs.
26 of Carmi’s 32 points were won by freshmen and sophomores.
The Bulldog Wrestlers will travel to Harrisburg tonight.
The 45th Annual Carmi-White County Invitational Tournament resumes tonight as Fairfield plays Mt. Vernon at 5:30 PM, followed by Harrisburg vs Evansville Day School at 7 PM.
