The Carmi Kiwanis Club met on March 23, 2017. President Jeremy Jordan acknowledged guests Lacey Harms and Jane Davis. Lawrence Martin won the 50/50 drawing.
Jerry Prince and Dylan Bowling from the McLeansboro Kiwanis Club were introduced. Mr. Prince announced that their club will feature a new event at the McLeansboro Fall Festival, a gravity powered downhill derby. He explained the specifications for each car. There will be different classifications based on age, individual, and corporate entries. The race will be named “Fox Hollow Run.” Club members were encouraged to create a car and enter the derby.
Keith Hoskins introduced and inducted the newest member to the club, Amanda Nelson. Amanda is the Business Development Officer at Peoples Bank.
Chris Myers introduced Austin Coniglione, owner and operator of GlitchTech. Austin said that his business is repairing anything electronic. Austin can repair desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and pads. If it is electronic, he will try to fix it. He has worked on Bluetooth headsets, hover boards, and gaming systems. A big part of GlitchTech is repairing cell phones, including screen repair.
Austin also makes house calls by appointment. He can provide assistance with networking, Wifi, running cable, computer setup, or troubleshooting. A monthly virus prevention and removal service is also available.
GlitchTech carries cell phone cases and chargers. They also sell and trade most any electronic devise. The new location of GlitchTech is 127 Main Street in Carmi. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM -7PM, and Saturday, 8AM – 12PM.
