The Carmi White County Junior High Boys Golf team competed at their first ever regional golf tournament on Monday at Franklin County Country Club in West Frankfort and finished in 12th place out of 14 teams with a team score of 175.
The Bullpups were led by Alexander Hale with a 49, Bryant O’Daniel with a 62, Bentley Nelson 64, and Ridge Balding with a 67.
Hale’s score of 49 was a good enough to advance to the SIJHSAA State Tournament at Kokopelli Golf Club in Marion next Monday. He becomes the program’s first state qualifier in it’s first year in existence.
Competing on the girls side was Gabby Mullins who shot a 72 and was tied for 32nd overall.
