It’s a White County Christmas Winners
The Carmi Chamber of Commerce and It’s a White County Christmas officially opened the holiday season this past weekend with the annual Christmas parade Saturday night and a number of contests.
Winning the best float award was the Carmi Compassion Center. The Burris Family was awarded the second place prize.
Gingerbread winners were Emmett Escoto-Aponte in the eight and under category. Gannon Boren won the nine to thirteen age division; Braylon Russell picked up the award for 14 to 17 year olds and Beth Conner won the 18 and over age group.
Aja Sexton won the made from scratch award.
Christmas treat winners were also selected over the weekend.
The judges awards went to Alicia Knight in the adult category for her Peppermint Oreo cookie crunch.
Wyatt Carter won the kids division with his Reese cup bar (not sorry).
People’s choice award winners were Amanda Winter for her gingerbread men in the adult division. Oren Wiliams won the people’s choice kid’s division with his holiday krispie treats.
