ILLINOIS STATE POLICE REMOVES OVER 1.25 TONS OF ILLEGAL DRUGS FROM ILLINOIS ROADWAYS

Illinois State Police (ISP) Director Leo. P. Schmitz announces that ISP criminal patrol operations were successful during 2017.  Criminal patrol operations are aimed at safeguarding the public by increasing highway safety and reducing criminal activity on Illinois Interstate highways.  During 2017, the ISP conducted 13 operations.  Below are the enforcement numbers from the operations.

“These initiatives are designed to provide extra patrol coverage on our roadways to ensure safe travels for the motoring public,” stated Director Schmitz.  “Troopers remain vigilant for suspicious activities during their contacts with motorists and should be commended for the arrests of those involved in criminal activities while traveling Illinois roadways,” he continued.
