White County Sheriff Doug Maier reported the arrest of a Carmi man on drug charges Thursday morning.
A detail conducted by the sheriff’s office, Carmi Police and the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force resulted in the arrest of 48 year old Michael Wayne French of 413 Rice Street.
The arrest was the result of a lengthy investigation by the Task Force.
French was arrested on a warrant for one count of unlawful delivery of methamphetamine (five to 15 grams) and two counts of unlawful delivery of meth (five grams). Bail was set at $150,000 or $15,000 cash.
A search warrant was also obtained for the residence. Upon executing the search authorities found several drug related items and an amount of methamphetamine. Additional charges are pending as a result of the search.
French was transported to the City County Jail, where he remained in custody this (fri) morning.
