FMH December calendar of events

Multiple Sclerosis Support Group:

The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group will meet Saturday, December 2nd from 11 a.m. – 12 noon, located in the Harlan Yates Board Room found in FMH Medical Arts Complex. The MS Support Group meets the first Saturday of each month.

Fairfield Kiwanis Christmas Parade

The Kiwanis Christmas Parade will be held in Fairfield on Saturday, December 2nd at 4:30 p.m. Be sure to look for the FMH entry and staff members handing out the popular fidget spinners along the parade route! We look forward to seeing you there!

Fairfield Memorial Hospital to host PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Training:

Fairfield Memorial Hospital will hold the next Pediatric Advanced Life Support class on December 4th at 9 a.m. The cost is $30 for the PALS course. Should a CPR card be needed, there will be an additional $10 charge. These classes will be held in the Medical Arts Complex, Educational Rooms. If you would like learn more or to register for the course, please contact Deb Spillman, CMSRN, FMH Clinical Practice Coordinator, at 618-847-8241. Upcoming scheduled dates for Advanced Cardiac Life Support ($30 class fee): January 4th, March 8th, and May 1st. Future class dates for Pediatric Advanced Life Support classes are as follows: February 8th and April 5th. Please register one week prior to class, if possible.

CPR Classes:

Fairfield Memorial Hospital holds CPR Classes monthly on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. You must preregister by calling 618-847-8367. This month’s CPR class is scheduled for Wednesday, December 6th.

Sensitive Santa:

On December 9th, FMH will be hosting a Sensitive Santa event, which is reserved just for children with sensory issues and/or Autism to have a special time to visit with Santa. Fairfield Memorial Hospital will be providing a sensory-friendly area in its Medical Arts Complex for children to be able to visit Santa and have their photo taken for free. We will also have an area for the siblings of these children to go play that will not interfere with the other children’s time with Santa, if needed. Refreshments will be served.

To schedule your child’s 20 minute session with Santa please contact Mary Knight in Administration at 618-847-8243. Space is limited so pre-registration is required. When you call we will gather information from you on your child’s likes and dislikes in order to be better prepared for your Santa session.

FMH Book Fair:

The Fairfield Memorial Hospital will be holding a Book Fair on Monday, December 11 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Medical Arts Complex Community Education Room. Everyone is invited to come and purchase from hundreds of new books and gifts up to seventy percent off. During the Book Fair, twenty percent of all proceeds from your purchase are donated to the FMH Foundation and the FMH Skilled Care Activities to help fund activities for the residents. This is a perfect time to pick up those last minute gifts for your loved ones, while supporting a wonderful cause.

Cancer Care Support Group:

Fairfield Memorial Hospital holds a Cancer Support Group meeting once a month on the second Thursday of the each month from 6-7 p.m. in the Medical Arts Complex (MAC) Community Education Room, with the next meeting being held, Thursday, December 14th.
