Carmi Police received a report of a stolen scooter just after 11:30am Thursday morning. Robert Steingruby told officers that overnight, someone stole a black Tomos Nitro 49cc scooter from his yard.
At 1:44am Friday, Carmi officers pulled over an Evansville man on a motorcycle with no tail light at the intersection of Hillsdale and Stewart Streets. The driver, 47 year old Robbie Swinford told officers that he did not have a valid driver’s license, but during a records check, it was also discovered that Swinford was in violation of an order of protection issued from Kitsap County, Washington. Swinford was transported to the White County Jail on those charges as well as having no registration of the motorcycle. Swinford is being held without bail pending a court hearing.
