Evansville man arrested after getting stuck in field near Carmi Saturday

Saturday night, White County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on 1st Street in Crossville, where a Flora woman reported that her vehicle’s rear window had been broken out.  Miranda Williams told deputies that she was visiting a friend, and when she was ready to leave, noticed the damage.  A pellet from an air rifle was found in the front windshield after going through the back glass, causing the damage.

At 10:36 pm Saturday, White County Dispatch received a call about a car stuck in a corn field and the driver was unsure of where he was.  The cell phone location placed the accident off of County Road 1500 N near Carmi.  When deputies arrived, they found 28 year old Kyle Saum of Evansville, who told officers he had gotten lost while driving around and appeared to be disoriented.  A records check showed that Saum had a suspended Indiana driver’s license, and Saum was taken into custody.  A tow truck removed the vehicle from the field.  Saum was transported to the White County Jail, and later was released after posting a $150 bond.
