Edwards County Farm Bureau Foundation Awards Scholarships

The Edwards County Farm Bureau Foundation recently announced their 2024 Collegiate Scholarship winners. This year the Foundation awarded $5,000 in scholarships to Edwards County students perusing degrees related to agriculture at the collegiate level or above. A $2,500 scholarship was awarded to Kyle Mewes of rural Albion, a $1,500 scholarship was awarded to Kassidi Metcalf of Albion, and a $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Carrisa Jefferson of Ellery.

Kyle Mewes is attending Southern Illinois University Law School with plans to become an attorney focusing on estate planning and dead writing. He is the son of Brian and Jamie Mewes.

Kassidi Metcalf is attending Murray State University with a double major in Agricultural Sciences and Agronomy. She is the daughter of Daniel and Amanda Metcalf.

Carissa Jefferson is attending College of the Ozarks with a double major in Agronomy and Agricultural Business. She is the daughter of Blake and Ora Lee Jefferson.

The Edwards County Farm Bureau Foundation Collegiate Scholarship is given annually each spring to at least one college student majoring in an agricultural related field. Over the past 28 years, the Foundation has awarded over $98,000 in scholarships to students from Edwards County, including this year’s $5,000.
