Crossville Man Arrested on DUI Charges

Crossville Man Arrested on DUI

Zachary T. Cotton, 22, 107 North Goodman Street, Crossville was arrested over the weekend in Crossville after he ran a stop sign and then nearly ran the arresting officer upon the Main Street curb in Crossville.

Cotton was asked why he almost ran the officer off the street, which he denied at first but then explained he thought the officer was his friend, who wanted to drag race. The officer smelled alcohol at that time, which resulted in a field sobriety test, which Cotton failed.

Cotton was administered several tests, including a breath analyzer which showed him above the legal limit to drive. At that time, he was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and transported to the City County Jail in Carmi for processing.

His vehicle was towed from the scene by Don’s Bumper to Bumper.

That occurred around 11 Friday night.

While authorities were dealing with Cotton, Chance M. Grein, 21 of McLeansboro was observed riding a three-wheeler. It was noted Grein pulled into a yard and shut the ATV off. At that time, a deputy sheriff arrived to assist and discovered Grein did not posess a valid driver’s license.

Grein was arrested at that time and transported to jail, where he was cited for driving on a revoked driver’s license. His ATV was towed from the scene by Don’s Bumper to Bumper.
