Classes Still Available Through SIC’s Mini-Semester

While the new year and the spring semester are now in full swing, it is still not too late to get back into the game academically at Southeastern Illinois College, thanks to the institution’s selection of mini-semester courses.

Mini-semester courses are available in a wide variety of areas of study, modes (online and on-campus) and duration. Courses vary in subject, such as Dynamics and Select Topics Literature. The length of the courses spans from classes lasting around eight weeks to classes that run through May.

The agenda also includes online classes in both academic major and general education areas that could be attractive to traditional students who have found room to fit another course into their schedule, or have a specific course they need to finish before graduation or transfer. Online courses include American Government, Principals of Public Speaking, Intro to Biofuels, Rhetoric and Composition I and II, Biofuels System Technology, Plant Maintenance, Biodiesel Production, Ethanol Production, Ag Wastes to Biofuels and Algae Feedstock.

For those looking for more immediate and career-focused educational experience, a second eight-week evening Welding class begins March 8.

Illinois Concealed Carry and CPR courses are offered throughout the semester. For more information call 252-5400 ext. 3213 for Concealed Carry and 252-5001 ext. 5 for CPR.

Students already enrolled at SIC may register for these classes on MySIC. Others who are interested can view a full listing of mini-semester courses, as well as registration contact information, at www.sic.edu/minisemester. For further information, call 252-5400 ext. 2443.
