Several area ladies walked away with brand new purses after the Carmi Chamber of Commerce’s Binga Handbag event Saturday. The organization held the fundraiser at the Carmi VFW where about 150 folks turned out and matched numbers in an effort to win purses valued at up to $500 each. In all, the Chamber gave away 21 purses with a total value just under $6,500. Several local businesses stepped up to sponsor bags as well.
