Mayor Jeff Pollard has announced that the City of Carmi will be holding a city wide cleanup event from Monday, March 14th through Friday, March 18th.
Dumpsters will be placed at the Newton Wire and Cable building at 520 North 3rd Street for residents to dispose of household items. Electronics, paint, and appliances will not be accepted. (an electronics recycling event will be scheduled in the near future)
All residents are encouraged to drop off their items at this location or ask someone with a truck to pick up the items at their residence and transport to the dumpster location.
For anyone unable to get your items to the disposal location, city workers will be available to collect neatly stacked curbside items on Thursday and Friday, March 17th and 18th. For curb collection, you are asked to call City Hall at 384-2001 or the Mayor’s office at 382-8118 to request pickup.
Only approved items will be picked up. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
The dumpster site will be monitored by video surveillance cameras and police patrol.
