Carmi Swimming Pool
The Carmi Swimming Pool opened a couple of weeks ago and according to Carmi Mayor Jeff Pollard has been busy every day since opening.
The mayor announced the hours of operations for the pool earlier this month, pointing out the pool is normally opened Monday through Friday from noon until 5:30 each evening.
However, there will be special hours observed this weekend, as the pool will be open to the public tomorrow (sat) from 10 am until 3 pm.
There will be free swim Fridays through the remainder of the month. The pool will be open and free to the public, Friday, the 21st and the 28th.
Tuesday night family time will be held this coming Tuesday, June 18 and then again on the 25th from 6 until 8 p.m. Admission will be $1 per person, or $5 for a family (over five people). Tuesday daytime hours will be noon until 5 during June. The pool will be closed from 5 until 6. Early closing hours will be observed on June 27.
There is water aerobics on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 until 6:15. There is a $5 charge for each session. Emily Williams is the instructor.
