Carmi Rotary learns about “Live Well, Be Well” class

At Thursday’s Rotary Club meeting, Tammy Rahmoeller, Director of Supportive Living of Wabash, gave the program. She told the club about the “Live Well, Be Well” class that will be given every Monday from June 12-July 24 from 9AM till 11:30AM. Anyone with a chronic health condition or anyone who is a caregiver for someone with a chronic condition should attend. Anyone with arthritis, asthma, diabetes, Parkinson’s, heart disease, lung disease, emphysema, etc. should attend. You will learn to build a more effective relationship with your doctor, solve problems, explore an exercise routine, eating tips, and manage medications as well as many other helpful tips. Tammy also noted that the Assisted Living will have its 10 year anniversary this June 29. She noted that they have admitted over 270 residents during this time period. Tammy answered several questions from the Rotarians.

In club business, the fish fry held two weeks ago was deemed a success. The club thanks everyone who helped make it a success. Rotarians will support the Chamber Golf outing in June. A team of 4 will be selected in the near future. Tom Logan named Patrick Haskell the phantom. Patrick also won the honor of selecting the pink ball in the 50/50 drawing but was not successful and the pot rolls over. Debbie Hoskins, who is also with supportive living, was a guest of the club. Little Giant and Andy Williams served up a delicious cheeseburger casserole meal. The Carmi Rotary club meets at noon on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. Anyone wishing to get involved is encouraged to come help Rotary with the many local projects and charities that are supported. You can follow us on Facebook.
