Carmi Police report busy Wednesday

The Carmi Police Department took a damage report Wednesday morning.  Tara Johnson reported at 11:27 am that over the weekend, someone removed her son’s bike from a rack at Washington Attendance Center and threw it down a flight of stairs.  Johnson said that the bike was chained to the rack.

Just after 2 pm, Christine Talley reported to police that someone had stolen mail from her mailbox after she had placed it there for the mail carrier to pick up.

At 2:25 pm, Donald Vanhorne reported that Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, someone stole two jacks holding his camper up on Third Street.

Just before 4 pm, Carmi Police served 26 year old Misty McFarland a White County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of obstructing justice.  McFarland was already in custody at the White County Jail and the new charge adds an additional $500 to her total bail amount.

At 4:26 pm, Carmi Police arrested 23 year old Kyle Puckett of Carmi at his 6th Street residence on a White County warrant for theft.  Puckett was transported to the White County Jail and is being held on a $2500 bond.

At 1:45 am Thursday, Carmi Police arrested 30 year old Nathan Brooks of Thompsonville on a Williamson County warrant for failure to appear on a domestic battery charge.  Brooks was also additionally charged with obstructing justice after lying to the arresting officer about his identity.  Brooks is being held at the White County Jail on a total bond amount of $650.
