Carmi Police Make Warrant Arrests
Carmi City Police were busy over the holiday weekend with several arrests reported by Carmi Chief of Police Jason Carter.
The incident reports stated all of the arrests were on outstanding warrants.
Tuesday afternoon, just before 5, Alexis H. Bowles, 20 of 210 Paint Creek Lane, Carmi was picked up after a traffic stop on a Wayne County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
Bowles posted $500 cash bond and paid a booking fee prior to being released from custody.
Three warrant arrests were made Monday.
James L. Parker, 22 of 7291 and a half, Shipley Street, Carmi was arrested on a White County warrant for assault. Parker was arrested following a traffic stop at the Carmi Motel parking lot, just before 6:30 Monday evening. Parker is also facing a charge of operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.
Parker was released on his own recognizance.
Monday night, around 8:15, Melinda Rankin, 51, 1206 Gilpin Street, Carmi was picked up on a White County warrant for failure to appear on a DUI charge. Rankin was transported to the City County Jail for processing, where bond was set at $500 cash.
Denzil Daryl Bennett, 77, of 206 North main Cross Street, Carmi was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a 2015 DUI charge. Bennett was also transported to the City County Jail where bond was set at $500 cash. Bennett was arrested just before 8 Monday night.
