Carmi Police make several arrests Saturday and Monday

Early Saturday morning, Carmi Police officers responded to a third party call about a domestic battery occurring on Sixth Street.  Officers took a complaint from the victim, but the suspect had already left the scene.

 

Carmi Police arrested 43 year old Billy Frank Newman of Carmi for driving on a suspended license after he was pulled over on Fifth Street at 10:55 am Saturday.  Newman was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Newman posted a $150 bond at the scene and was released.

 

Saturday afternoon, 30 year old Caitlin Williams of Carmi was arrested by Carmi officers at 2:16 pm at Pundrakes.  Williams was wanted on a White County warrant for failure to appear and a Wabash County warrant for violating probation.  Williams was transported to the White County Jail and later released after posting bond.

 

A 17 year old juvenile was arrested Monday on charges of disorderly conduct and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor by Carmi Police after chanting “white power” and trying to instigate a fight in the Little Giant parking lot around 4pm.  Officers located the juvenile after a short search, and additional arrests are expected.

 

33 year old Natasha McKenzie of Carmi was arrested at 9:41pm Monday on a White County body attachment warrant after she was observed by Carmi officers walking on Walnut Street.  McKenzie was transported to the White County Jail, and was later released after posting a $250 bond.
