Thursday morning at 8:37am, Tiffany Crockett reported to the Carmi Police Department that in the morning hours on Wednesday, someone stole her dog from her residence on Webb Street.
Just before noon on Thursday, Rice Motor Company informed the Police Department a license plate stolen from the dealership in 2011 received a parking ticket from the City of Chicago.
Police arrested 45 year old Michael French of Carmi at Little Giant Grocery on Thursday afternoon after he was accused of assaulting owner Ron Kingery. Witnesses said that French cussed out Kingery and scratched his neck. French was transported to the White County Jail and charged with battery and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting a $150 bond.
