37 year old April Spoonemore of Carmi was taken into custody on a White County warrant for possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia Saturday afternoon by the Carmi Police Department. Spoonemore was arrested at 2:55pm and transported to the White County Jail, where she remains.
The Carmi Police Department responded to a rollover accident Monday night that resulted in a minor being cited for operating a vehicle without a license. At 9:42pm, officers arrived in the alley between Illinois and Schumaker Streets just off of Stewart Street and found a jeep on its side after striking a guide wire attached to an electric pole. The 15 year old driver told officers that she was moving the vehicle from the front of her father’s residence to the rear of the home when the accident occurred. The driver was transported to Hamilton Memorial Hospital by the White County Ambulance Service and was later released. The driver was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. A City worker determined that there was no damage to the utility pole.
