Carmi Council Meets Tonight

City Council Meeting Tuesday

The Carmi City Council will meet at 5:30 Tuesday for what could be a lengthy meeting as there are a number of items on the agenda.

That includes a request to consider rescheduling the Tuesday, April 2 meeting to avoid a conflict with the Consolidated Elections.

The Carmi Kiwanis Club will be asking permission to host Peanut Day on April 27 from 8 until noon, with a bucket brigade at the corners of Stewart, Hillsdale and Beck Streets.

Dave Coston, the city’s electrical engineer will present an update to the board on the municipal light plant, generator 11 and the long term plans for the city’s electrical use.

The meeting will also include update from Mayor Jeff Pollard and reports from the standing committees.

There will also be an executive session to discuss property and personnel issues.

The Carmi City Council normally meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. The meetings are open to the public.
