The Carmi City Council met briefly Tuesday evening for a quick meeting, approving a handful of projects. The Council approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with Carmi Elks Lodge #1652 for an existing building renovation, a TIF Agreement with Carmi Elks Lodge #1652, and a TIF Façade Grant for the Courtyard. The Council also approved a resolution authorizing the Mayor to seek bids for trash service as well as a pay request for Kiefer Brothers Construction Inc. for $47, 663.50 for the sewer project in the alley between Oak, Elm, and 7th Streets.
The reports from Mayor Jeff Pollard included the finalization of the acquisition of Archie Brown Memorial Park with plans for it to be used for junior high and high school softball, the acquisition of a house near the post office with plans to turn it into a parking lot, as well as hopes to have the pool open by June 1st.
The city council is now adjourned until next month.
