Wednesday afternoon, Mt. Carmel Fire and Police were dispatched to the parking lot of Corporate America Credit Union. Callers advised that a vehicle pulled into the lot and was on fire.
Police spoke with the driver, Rick Meadows, who explained he was driving southbound on Oak Street when he smelled smoke. Meadows stated he pulled into the bank parking lot and the vehicle caught fire. Meadows was the only occupant in the vehicle and he was able to escape the burning vehicle without injuries.
Shortly after the Mt. Carmel Fire Department arrived on scene the fire was extinguished.
