A McLeansboro man is headed for probation after agreeing to a plea deal in White County court Wednesday morning. 60-year-old John Armey agreed to a plea deal taking a guilty charge for Possession of Meth that dates back to August of 2025. The remaining charges including Unlawful Use of Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis by Driver were dismissed as per the deal. Armey received two years of probation, a fine, 30 hours of community service, and a six-month stayed jail sentence. He’ll also be ordered to complete a drug treatment program.
