The Carmi Police Department announced that there will be an active shooter training drill taking place at Jefferson Attendance Center on Wednesday starting at 2:45pm.
No children will be present at the time of the drill.
The Carmi Police, White County Sheriff’s Department and Carmi-White County teachers will be training together to be as prepared as possible for any type of incident.
The public should not be alarmed if they see several law enforcement officers at the school or hear calls to dispatch on the radio during this time.
