4-H Presentations A Success

4-H Presentations

White County 4-H Public Presentations were held this year on April 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Supportive Living of Wabash Apartments in Carmi. Four 4-H members: Katelyn Davis, Annsley Healy, Daisy Roser, and Caitlin South gave presentations on subjects that they chose themselves. Annsley and Caitlin gave an Oral Interpretation Speech; Daisy and Katelyn gave a Formal Speech. Rachel Parish of Harrisburg judged the members.

The presenters did a great job this year. Annsley received an A rating and a Superior for her oral interpretation “Collection of Poems”. Caitlin received an A rating Best of Show, a Superior, and a State 4-H Public Presentation opportunity for her oral interpretation of “Elphaba”. Katelyn received an A rating, Best of Show, and Superior for talking about “Life Lessons I’ve Learned from Disney” on her formal speech. Daisy received an A rating and a Superior for her formal speech titled “Art”.

Quote from Jim Beggs, “What we say is important . . . for in most cases the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” For these four young presenters, they are going to have a bright, promising future.

The White County 4-H program would like to thank the Supportive Living of Wabash and its residents for allowing us to hold the public presentations at their facility. 4-H is currently taking new members, so if anyone is interested in joining a club, call the Extension office at 618-382-2662, or attend the next club meeting of your choice! If you are interested in 4-H workshops, or would like to see what 4-H is doing throughout the year, take a look at our Facebook page by searching “White County Illinois 4-H.” Be sure to “Like” our page, so you don’t miss anything happening in White County.
