2016 King Candidate

Jace Carter

 

Jace Carter is an eight-year member of the Centerville Ripsnorters 4-H Club and the son of Justin James and Jennifer Carter-James of Carmi.

In the past eight years Jace has taken many projects in 4-H.  His top five that he enjoys the most would have to be rabbits, cooking, citizenship, weather, and his visual arts projects.

 

His honors would have to include receiving the Victory award, the HCE award, the safety award, receiving the secretary award, and having perfect attendance.

 

4-H is special to Jace because in 4-H he has learned many things like leadership, responsibility, and has been able to do many community service projects.  He believes those qualities will help throughout his life.

 

Besides 4-H Jace is an active player on the football and track teams.  He is also a member of the FFA, Key club, and the Shooting Sports SPIN Club.  In school Jace has received the Kiwanis and Rotary awards, perfect attendance, and high honor roll.

 

2016 King Candidate

Gia Berekashvili

 

Gia Berekashvili is a six-year member of the Mad Hatters 4-H Club and the son of Giorgi and Valarie Berekashvili of Carmi.

In the past six years Gia has taken many projects in 4-H.  His top five that he enjoys the most would have to be public presentations, intercultural, citizenship, leadership, and his computer science projects.  Gia especially enjoyed his intercultural project where he studied the Republic of Georgia which is where his father is from.

 

His honors would have to include being selected for Personal Development Achievement Medal, selected for the Victory award, elected treasurer of the Mad Hatters, and elected secretary of the Mad Hatters.

 

4-H is special to Gia because 4-H has helped him develop several important skills such as public speaking and leadership.  The 4-H program has allowed him to explore lots of different topics to discover new things he is interested in.

 

Besides 4-H Gia is actively involved in the band and plays the trumpet.  He has also participated in baseball, basketball, and track.  In school Gia has been on the high honor roll every year, and has received the Carmi Rotary Club award for 2015.  Gia has also served on the Student Council.

 

2016 King Candidate

Cody Nausley

 

Cody Nausley is a five-year member of the Centerville Ripsnorters 4-H Club and the son of Lex and Shannon Nausley of Carmi.

In the past five years Cody has taken many projects in 4-H.  His top five that he enjoys the most are swine, crops, cooking, sheep, and shooting sports.  Cody enjoys watching his swine and sheep grow and studying them.

 

His honors include perfect attendance, state fair delegate, state fair alternate, and best of show for two years.  Cody also received grand champion in swine.

 

4-H is special to Cody because 4-H has taught him responsibility.  It has given him the opportunity to explore new things and it has taught him a lot about what the future holds in choosing his career.

 

Besides 4-H, Cody is actively involved in swimming.  He has been in the top ten for his age division in breaststroke for the past two years in Mt. Vernon, IN.  He has also placed in the top 6 for breaststroke in Carmi. Cody also does track, football, and enjoys helping coach his brothers baseball team.

 

 

2016 King Candidate

Kaden Carter

 

Kaden Carter is a six-year member of the Centerville Ripsnorters 4-H Club and the son of Jason and Amber Carter of Carmi.

In the past six years Kaden has taken many projects in 4-H.  His top five that he enjoys the most are electricity, rabbit, woodworking, sport fishing, and photography.  Kaden’s project in woodworking is extra special because him and his grandpa worked on it together.

 

His honors include perfect attendance and state fair delegate.  Kaden also received grand champion in rabbit.  He also placed in the Chef Challenge at the White Co. 4-H Show.  Kaden also won 1st place in air rifle with shooting sports.

 

4-H is special to Kaden because he has made new friends, learned life experiences, and helped the community.

 

Besides 4-H, Kaden is actively involved in golf, where he has placed in several tournaments.  Kaden is on the high honor role at school and participates in track and basketball.  He has also received the Citizenship Award.
