A 24-year-old Carmi woman is being held at the White County Jail following her arrest on a violation of probation Wednesday morning. Carmi Police say it happened just after 11am at the probation office. Emilie Bailey of 12th Street was serving probation after an October of 2022 arrest (Read more at Carmi Police Department Reports Three Arrests Over The Weekend – WRUL-FM) in which she faced 8 counts total including charges of Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and numerous driving related offenses. She would agree to a plea deal in April of 2023 which dismissed all charges save for the Possession charge and she was sentenced to 2 years of probation, 100 hours of community service, drug treatment, and a 6 month stayed jail sentence. After failing to appear in White County court in March, Bailey will now face 6 months behind bars. She’s due in court on April 7th in this case as well as a separate incident in 2023 related to operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving with an expired registration.
