Wabash County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Two on Monday

On Monday, the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint from an individual stating that his stepson was intoxicated and acting belligerent. The stepson, Lewis Wade Linder, was also armed and had discharged a .45 caliber handgun inside a residence. The caller also shared that Linder went outside, fired several more shots, and then got into a white Audi.

Upon receiving the complaint, a deputy swiftly arrived on the scene. A .45 caliber handgun was found inside the Audi, and the deputy observed a man running from a garage and into the backyard of the residence.

A K9 unit and the Wabash County drone were called in, and they successfully pinpointed Linder’s location in a thick wooded area.

Linder was arrested and charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of a Firearm without a FOID card (Revoked).

Linder will see a judge on April 14th for the charges.

Another call came into the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office that same day. This caller shared that a vehicle was parked in the southbound lane of the roadway near Friendsville Avenue.

While en route to the location, the deputy received more phone calls about the exact vehicle, but callers advised that the car had drifted into a ditch and the driver was asleep at the wheel.

Once at the location, the deputy contacted the driver, 20-year-old Alexis Lewis. The deputy conducted an investigation, which ended in Lewis’s arrest. She was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Illegal Consumption by a Minor.

She was taken to the Wabash County Jail and later released.
