An officer from the White County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call Thursday night.

According to the police report, officers talked to Enrique Sandoval, who was heavily intoxicated, and were advised that Sandoval had fired someone and was having an argument. Sandoval attacked a man named Angel after he entered a room and received a minor injury to his right elbow, and his 2011 Nissan Altima had been damaged.
Sandoval was found in a garage with his hands covered in blood and blamed four individuals for “attacking” him. Officers, as well as a Carmi Police officer, began an investigation and noticed that none of the men had blood on them, and Angel did, in fact, have an injury to his elbow. The Nissan’s damage included damaged windows, dents in the hood and driver door, and blood all over the car.
Charges were filed against Sandoval for Battery and Criminal Damage to Property. Officers transported him to the White County Jail, where he was later released with a notice to appear.

A little after 7:30 am Monday morning, James Frey turned himself in at the White County Sheriff’s Office on an active White County warrant for failure to appear. Frey went before a judge just a few hours later Monday morning and entered into a plea deal for his charge of DUI. He will complete two years of supervision and DUI counseling and pay court costs.
