WVC FOOD DRIVE BENEFITS THE WADI FOOD PANTRY

Through the generosity of students, faculty, staff and the community, the Wabash Valley College Student Senate was able to collect over 2,000 non-perishable food items to donate to the Wabash Area Development Incorporated (WADI) Food Pantry to help those less fortunate in Wabash County during the holiday season.

The 2,061 items donated to the WVC Student Senate’s food drive were the most donated on any IECC campus, and, as a result, a travelling trophy for the campus that collects the most items will reside on the WVC campus for the next year.

In addition to the WVC Student Senate, several WVC clubs participated in the food drive including the Teaching Our Youth Club, Science Club, Health Professionals Club, and the Ag Club/Collegiate Farm Bureau.

The food drive would not have been as successful without the generous contributions of several local businesses and individuals, including: Borowiak’s IGA, Buehler’s Buy Low, J. Wilderman Autoplex, the Knights of Columbus, Mt. Carmel Public Utility Company, Gottman’s Custom Jewelry, Wabash County Farm Bureau, Country Financial Agents Jody Smith and Bill Stinson, Holiday International Travel, The Smile Center, and Paul and Candy Ankenbrandt.
