Winget places first at RLC Welding Contest, $13k given in Academic Awards‏

Forty-one local high school students competed in Rend Lake College’s 2016 Welding Contest Friday morning, with ten scoring high enough to receive prizes. A total of $13,000 in Academic Awards was given to the top students to attend RLC’s program in the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters.

Taking first place was Luke Winget (Mulkeytown), representing Christopher High School. The remaining top ten places went to the following students: Josh Bays (Christopher) in second, Alex Cavinder (Christopher) in third, Izec Clark (Mulkeytown) in fourth, Logan Smith (Benton) in fifth, Michael Hoffman (Mulkeytown) in sixth, Timothy Brinkley (Norris City) in seventh, Terrance Arnold (Fairfield) in eighth, Emily Lusby (Bluford) in ninth, and Bradley Manning (Bluford) in tenth.
