On Tuesday morning, White County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from a staff member at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville saying that 40 year old Jason Alvey of Carmi was waiting in a pickup across the street from the business, and that he was wanted on a White County warrant.

Deputies arrived and confirmed Alvey’s identity and took him into custody for failure to appear on a charge of violation of an order of protection. Alvey was arrested at 8:56am and transported to the White County Jail where he remains in lieu of a $500 bond.

A Maunie man was charged with criminal damage to property and driving on a suspended license after he was accused of intentionally crashing a pickup into a home on Pumphrey Street.  26 year old Eric Vessels was transported to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville by the White County Ambulance Service after being arrested by the White County Sheriff’s Department following the wreck that just before 9:30pm Tuesday.  A witness said that Vessels drove into the yard, tearing down a fence and striking the mobile home before coming to rest after hitting a tree.  Vessels also was charged with improper lane usage.
