White County Board to Meet Tuesday

The White County Board is set to meet on Tuesday, January 20th at 7pm.  Other than 11 items on the consent agenda which allows the board to approve all items at once rather than individually, it’s a fairly light agenda.  Only one item of old business remains unresolved, the potential approval of moving Carmi precincts voting location to the First Christian Church from the floral hall.   Mutterings of the floral hall becoming rentable again have yet to be confirmed, but some officials have signaled the intent to move voting to the church regardless of the floral hall’s status.  Board member David South has repeatedly asked to hold that item up on the grounds that the floral hall he suspects will become available again and also under the guise that moving voting to the church might somehow dissuade some from participating in their civic duty.  In new business, the board will discuss and consider a request for a donation from Southern Illinois Critter Fixers.  We expect to hear reports from county officers as well Tuesday night.
