White County 4H Show in Progress – Weekend Results

The White County 4H Show is officially in progress.  The horse show kicked things off on Friday night.  Nate Garner, Katelyn Garner and Gabby Ray are all blue ribbon winners.  Judge Leigh Clark praised all 3.  Nate Garner took senior high points with his horse, “Rip”.  Gabby Ray took junior high points and first year member, Katelyn Garner took home junior high points in “fun” events including the catalog race and the egg and spoon.

Also held over the weekend, 4Hers showed their dogs, cats and other small animals on Saturday and Sunday, archer, air rifle, air pistol and shotgun shoots were held at the Carmi Rifle Club.  We expect to have results from those events in the near future.

Coming up today at the White County 4H Show, food projects will be judged beginning at 12:30.  More than 137 individual exhibits are expected at this year’s food show.  Projects range from beginning cooking to advanced projects including pastry shells, yeast bread rolls and homemade candies.  Also today, the clothing exhibition will be held at the same time.  In addition to judging today, members with clothing projects will have their garments modeled at a Fashion Revue on Wednesday during the Awards Program.

Finally Monday, well known rabbit and poultry judge Mike Wilson will be in Carmi to begin his expert evaluations in the livestock barn.  The rabbit and poultry show gets underway at 5pm.
